Southland horse arena

Take a look at one of our recent projects in the Deep South – covering a horse arena. Our client Margaret Lawton is hugely impressed with the performance of the structure.

The 24m wide x 60m long shelter on 2.4m timber posts covers the dressage arena for miniature horses. The Lawtons have found the shelter structure very beneficial and have used it for a number of show days as well as their day to day training.

‘In December 2016 SmartShelters erected a 24 meter by 60 meter shed for us. We use this to work our horses in. We show these in harness/performance and in hand classes. We also run club training days in winter time.

We live 20 km west of Invercargill and are only 3 km from the sea. We have installed the shed on a hill with very little shelter. We have had a lot of very strong winds and severe weather and the structure has sustained no damage.

It is very cool on hot days and it is unbelievable how bright it is even late at night giving us extra time to work the horses.
