All SmartShelters are designed and built to rigorous standards, because we know that there is no room for short-cuts when you’re working on site.
All SmartShelters structures are designed to the AS/NZS 1170.2-2002 standard, and are specifically engineered to suit their site locations. Whether you are a global mining operator or a local earthworks contractor, you’ll have the assurance that your SmartShelter has been designed to withstand high wind speeds and snow loadings. A recent mine contract called for a minimum wind speed rating of 208km/h (58m/s), and SmartShelters' professional installation team erected a container-mounted structure which fully complied with this specification.
All SmartShelters use structural grade Australian steel, fully galvanised to protect against corrosion. A typical hoop member is produced from Supergal galvanised steel, 75mm x 75mm x 4mm SHS.
We know how much damage the sun’s UV rays can cause to plant and equipment which is left uncovered, and that is why all SmartShelters structures utilise an ultra-UV stabilised PE fabric which has been developed for Australasia’s UV climate, which is the most severe in the world. We’ve used this fabric in a wide range of applications for over 30 years, and have never had a warranty claim on it!
